Coca-Cola Canada Has An All-New Flavour & It's The Most Quebec Thing Ever
We can't wait to try it!
- An all-new flavour called Coca-Cola Quebec Maple has just hit stores across Canada.
- The new soda was made just for the Canadian market and offers a "unique twist on a timeless taste."
While strolling through the drink aisle of my local grocery store last night, I came across something I was sure I'd never seen before. A four-pack of Coca-Cola "Quebec Maple" flavour in large glass bottles, complete with fleur-de-lis designs and drawings of beautiful maple leaves. There was only one pack left on the shelf and I was quick to snatch it up because I knew I had to try this drink. But, honestly, I haven't cracked a bottle yet as I was too busy confirming all the details of this new soda for you.
A representative from Coca-Cola Ltd. confirmed to MTL Blog that the all-new Coca-Cola Quebec Maple officially launched on February 17, 2020 and is now available "nationally wherever you buy Coca-Cola products."
That means you can pick some of this sweet maple soda at your nearest grocery store, convenience store or gas station.
We were also able to confirm that this flavour won't be fleeting. It is a new permanent flavour "developed specifically for the Canadian market."
"The flavour is a unique twist on a timeless taste while honouring Quebec’s passion for all things maple."
Don't worry, I will be trying it soon and will give you my full opinion.
After coming across the four-pack at my store, I was curious to see if other people around Montreal had started to see it in their local shops as well.
What I found was just a small number of people who had also stumbled across it, like me.
I was surprised to see that it was also popping up in stores and dining establishments across the country.
In fact, we even confirmed with a diner in Calgary called G-Pops Diner and Sweet Shoppe that it is now officially serving the specialty soda.
Quebec Maple now joins the growing list of "local" flavours that Coca-Cola has started to share with the world, including a British Columbia Raspberry flavour and a Georgia Peach flavour.
Other unique flavours include Coca-Cola de Mexico and Barq’s crafted Root Beer, Cream Soda, and Spiced Cherry flavours.
The Coca-Cola rep we spoke with also confirmed that the 355-millilitre bottles were available in single-serve glass bottles or in the four-pack.
At my grocery store, the four-pack was retailing for $6.99.
Stay tuned for an update on what I think of this all-new flavour, coming soon!
