New Netflix Movie "Wine Country" Is Like "Bridesmaids" But Funnier And With Amy Poehler & Tina Fey
This movie's star-studded cast is sure to make it a hit.
Fans of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are going to be delighted to hear that the two are staring in a new movie together. Wine Country, directed by Amy Poehler, reunites some of the funniest women to have even been on Saturday Night Live: Poehler and Fey are joined by Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, and Ana Gasteyer.
Initial reviews of the movie are in, and they're pretty positive. What's not to love about this movie's plot, which follows five friends on a weekend getaway through "wine country" to celebrate one of their friend's 50th birthday.
The movie, which comes out on Netflix on May 10th, calls for a night in with friends, wine, and popcorn.
The movie follows two friends, former pizza restaurant waitresses who have remained close for decades. With her friend's birthday approaching, Poehler's character decides to organize a few days away with their larger circle of girlfriends. The boisterous group head to Napa Valley for a weekend of wine puns and difficult truths.

This is set to be a heartwarming comedy about female friendship and how much middle-aged women love their wine.
The Times reviewed the movie, summarising it as a film in which castmembers "strive to capture the way women talk when men are out of the picture. Mostly, the characters show unwilting support for one another, though they can’t resist peeling off into groups of two to talk behind the others’ backs."
CNN similarly wrote that "the movie's best parts come out of the easy camaraderie that the actresses exhibit, augmented by random insults, wine-soaked confessions and references to experiences and the music that these women shared."
To be honest, I'm mostly just ready to hear a ton of wine puns.
Seriously, these women are sooo funny.
The movie Wine Country premieres May 10 on Netflix.
