On Friday morning, the government reported that there were 184 new COVID-19 cases in Quebec in the previous 24 hours. On Thursday, 187 new cases were reported.

The increase in new cases this week comes as the pandemic undergoes a shift in the province.

Though previously concentrated in Montreal, new cases are now coming from regions across Quebec.

Premier Legault has also noted that "a larger number of these new cases are coming from young people." 

On Monday, he criticized Quebecers for what he called a "general relaxation" of their discipline when it comes to respecting public health rules.
