The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) is monitoring the situation after six people who attended a party tested positive for COVID-19 in Laval.

A CISSS spokesperson told MTL Blog that the party consisted of around 40 young adults — in defiance of public health rules.

The partygoers are now all in isolation, the CISSS spokesperson said.

"In large gatherings and parties, we are one person away from being contaminated or contaminating someone," the CISSS de Laval wrote in a Thursday Facebook post.

"What can we do to bring this pandemic to an end, to help and harm as little as possible? Take it seriously, be responsible, wear a mask, wash your hands, etc..."

Though public gatherings may now include up to 250 people in Quebec, private gatherings are still limited to 10 people.
