World's Largest Aircraft Made An Appearance At The Mirabel Airport (Video)
The plane was carrying medical equipment.
The availability of necessary medical equipment for health care workers across the country has been a topic of conversation since the beginning of the crisis surrounding COVID-19. As a response to such, a shipment of protective equipment arrived at Mirabel Airport on Friday, May 1. And, it ended up arriving during the evening on the world's largest aircraft.
The aircraft in question, the Antonov AN-225, has been travelling since 1988 and there only exists one of its kind.
It was made to deliver heavy material around the world since its beginning, and that's what it continues to do today.
When it arrived at the Mirabel Airport, it was full of items from China, including medical gowns, reports La Presse.
Since its presence on Quebec soil is rather rare, many people gathered near the airport runways to watch its landing.
Some photos and videos of the landing are currently circulating on the internet — each more impressive than the next.

On Friday, May 1, Dr. Horacio Arruda announced that he wants to drastically increase the number of screening tests that are done daily in Quebec.
These measures would provide a better overview of the progression of the pandemic in the province.
Since the beginning of the crisis, more than 220,000 tests have been carried out in the province.
