Montreal Comiccon took over the Palais des congrès this past weekend and participants did not disappoint. Hundreds of crafty and resourceful Montrealers and people from around the world descended upon the convention centre in full regalia.
This year's edition featured an impressive lineup of celebrities, from William Shatner to Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter). But the movie, TV show, novel and comic book fans were, as always, by far the most impressive attendees.
MTL Blog got a pass to Comiccon 2019 to check out some of the best cosplay over the two-day event.
Take a look with the MTLBlog video below from correspondent Alex Melki:
According to Radio-Canada, as many as 60,000 people showed up at the 2019 festival.
In addition to a parade of people in costumes, the event also featured photo-ops with celebrity visitors, workshops, 250,000 square feet of shopping space, a masquerade, and even Disney karaoke.
Comiccon-goers flooded social media with pictures of the festivities.
Scary clowns seem to have been a particularly popular costume choice.
This Pikachu was the star of the show.
Disney characters were also popular figures.
Others chose real-life celebrities to emulate.
Comiccon appears to have been a resounding success.
