How much would someone have to pay you to climb a 55-foot wall with no rope, net or harness in sight, just a clear drop into a pool below you?

Welcome to Psicobloc, a form of solo climbing over a body of water with no safety measures in place, for when rock climbing isn't hardcore enough.

The PSicobloc Open Series Block Event is coming back to Montreal for its second year in a row and it is crazzzzy awesome.

At the end of August, over 400 challengers will be lining up to compete two at a time to get to the top of the 55-foot 'Big' wall the fastest without plunging into the depths below. This takes incredible speed, endurance, and strength.

While we want everyone to make it to the top, it's got to be a spectacular fall to witness. And holy hell, if a competitor falls from the top of the wall it will take them 2-3 seconds to hit the water with an average speed of 60km/h!

The competition includes four categories: Men, Women, Junior Girls, and Junior Boys. The winners of each division will share $30,000 in cash prizes. The winners also get ridiculous bragging rights for at least a year.

Even if you're an attendee, both those resting on their butts and those working their butts off have a chance to win over $100,000 in total prizes

As an attendee, you can test your athleticism and give the 'Big' wall (or some of the smaller walls) a chance. The event is lending out climbing shoes the whole weekend!

If you're not a big fan of heights but want to give tightrope walking a go, the event will also have slacklines in the pool and throughout the parc to try out

There's food and drinks to buy, yoga classes to take and a few other activities to check out while you're there. But the main draw is watching these athletes showing off some serious skills.

You can register to participate on the event website here.
