As we announced a couple of months ago, Cirque du Soleil is debuting an all-new show this Spring in Montreal, and finally, we've got some details. The all-new show is called Cirque du Soleil Under the Same Sky and it will premiere at Montreal's big top in the Old Port on April 23, 2020.
Which means in just a couple months you could be taking in the fantastic new cirque experience, right here in Montreal's Old Port as winter finally fades away!
Cirque du Soleil has long been a point of pride for Montreal and Canada at large, considering its place as perhaps the most exciting circus company in the contemporary space.
As of right now, Cirque du Soleil has over 20 productions happening worldwide, which just goes to show how much audiences love the creativity, craftsmanship, costumes and everything else that goes into a Cirque du Soleil show.
This new show promises to bring together "uplifting acrobatic choreography, startling physical theatre" and, as always, a "vibrant musical score."
Tickets are already on sale and you can purchase yours now before the show moves on June 21, 2020. The U.S. premiere of Under the Same Sky is happening in Boston.
The essence of this new Cirque show is the idea of "human interconnection," meaning the acrobatics, music and visuals will "leave you feeling truly connected."
The show "invokes the power of the human performance and communal experience," which has long been at the heart of every Cirque show and will come to the forefront with Under the Same Sky.
Even the name offers the warmth of togetherness. It is described as "a hymn to the vibrant communal experience that only a live show can offer."
The show will touch on ideas of the earth and our future, humans and animals, "connexion" and "explosion."
Take a look at some images which are part of the "creative studio" on Cirque du Soleil's website here.
You can see the new show starting on April 23, 2020 until June 21, 2020.
The best part? It's going down Under the Big Top in Montreal's Old Port.
