Over half the STM green line has been shut down due to a medical emergency. Emergency services are on the scene, though it's unclear at which station the intervention has taken place. The STM shared the service update via the green line Twitter account at 16:11. Service is not expected to resume until 18:00. The hour-long shutdown will impact afternoon commutes.

The shutdown extends from the western terminus of Angrignon to Berri-UQAM, the intersection of the green, orange, and yellow lines and one of the busiest stations in the STM network.

UPDATE: as of 17:24, service is gradually resuming on the green line.

We will update this article as more information becomes available. The STM has dispatched shuttle buses to ferry commuters between the affected stations.

As of 17:24, service is gradually resuming on the green line. But commuters should expect severe congestion for the rest of the afternoon.

Photos posted online show crowds accumulating on station platforms.

The orange line is in service but trains are not stopping at Lionel-Groulx.

An unconfirmed report from an MTL Blog reader suggests that the medical emergency involves an individual stuck under a train.

Stay tuned.
