- The Home Alone reboot in Montreal now has various confirmed filming locations in and around Montreal, along with some suspected ones.
- Find out where you may spot some of the new Home Alone stars below!
The Home Alone reboot starring Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, and Archie Yates has officially made its way to Montreal. Recently, MTL Blog reported that the much anticipated Home Alone Reboot will be filming in Longueuil. But, we now know that is not the only location that has been verified, as we got confirmation that the film will be shooting in the town of Hudson as well.
Hudson is a beautiful, off-island suburb that will make a great backdrop for any film. According to item 3.2 in the minutes of their town meeting on January 3, 2020, it clearly states that Home Alone will be filming in the area.
When MTL Blog reached out to the town of Hudson for more information, the Urban Planning Technician responded saying "unfortunately, the town of Hudson cannot give any details about the film production."
So, all we know for sure is that filming is going to take place in Hudson - where exactly, we don't know.
There have also been rumblings that they have been spotted filming in St. Henri. I don't have confirmation for that just yet, but once I do - I promise you'll be the first to know.
However, a little birdie was able to snap some pictures of a Christmas looking set in St. Henri. You can let your imagination run wild about the set itself, but we have no confirmation about whether this actually has anything to do with the Home Alone reboot.
MTL Blog reached out to the publicist working on this project and although he "appreciated" our interest in the film, he was "focused on making a movie, and not giving any location, cast or story details at this time," which is understandable.
This well-kept secret is building the anticipation, and now I'm more excited than ever to see the film.
And, with so many other movies being filmed in Montreal, the chances of bumping into some cool celebrities around the city feel endless.
Our city truly is a magnificent backdrop for a movie. Everything from the charming Old Port to the hustle and bustle of downtown, Montreal can easily stand in for different places and eras, which is just one of the many charms of our city.
If you've spotted any of the Home Alone cast or if you've seen any Christmas-inspired sets throughout our city, snap a picture or let us know!
