Kevin Hart is in Montreal this summer to film the new movie Fatherhood, which, according to IMDb, is the story of a man who "brings up his baby girl as a single dad after the unexpected death of his wife [one] day after their daughter's birth."
Hart has been posting regular production updates to his personal Instagram account. His followers in Montreal might recognize some of the filming locations.
But nothing tops his latest post, in which cast and crew members surprise the actor with an enormous birthday cake. Even more adorable is the very québécois, rousing rendition of "Bonne Fête" that greets Hart when he makes his appearance.
The video was posted yesterday in anticipation of the actor's 40th birthday later this week on July 6th. Hart himself doesn't speak any French in the video, but does deliver a touching speech commending his colleagues for their hard work.
You can watch the video below:
"I couldn't be happier with the flow and energy of the movie and everybody involved here. I think we're off to a great start... You guys are all phenomenal! So thank you for such an amazing gesture," he says.
With some investigative work, we have also been able to identify other filming locations around the city. Visible in the background of this photo, for example, is the Ecollegey location on ave. Monkland in Monkland Village:
