Michelle Pfeiffer is one of Hollywood’s most elite stars. Her countless memorable performances and lasting impression on pop culture have turned her into a household name. That is why it is so cool that she is not only in our city, but that she is filming a movie in Montreal. This winter, many new movies are being filmed in Montreal, and Michelle Pfeiffer just so happens to be the star of one of those films, lucky us!
Pfeiffer is a big fan of the Montreal native, Leonard Cohen, so much so that her Instagram bio is one of his quotes: "Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”
Over the weekend, this superstar posted one of the most Montreal photos ever — her looking over at the mural portrait of Cohen that looks over Rue Crescent.
Pfeiffer captioned the photo, “Woke up this morning to Leonard Cohen letting the light in and 1 million followers! Thank you, everyone!” It's nice to know that this momentous event occurred in Montreal.
The film, French Exit, is directed by the talented Azazel Jacobs and will bring Patrick deWitt's, who is also writing the screenplay, novel to life.
For those of you who have yet to read the book, French Exit tells the story of an ageing Manhattan socialite living off a dwindling inheritance.
In the story, the main character, Frances decides to move to Paris, where she, her son Malcolm, played by Lucas Hedges, and her cat start a new journey in a small Parisian apartment.
Lucas Hedges is a young actor best known for his role in Lady Bird, Boy Erased, and Ben Is Back. If you don't know who he is, you will soon enough, as he is gaining a lot of popularity throughout the industry.
This comedic drama set in Paris, is in fact, being filmed in Montreal until the end of November, which means we still have some time to spot this goddess roaming through our city.
If you are lucky enough to see spot this iconic woman in person, make sure to let her know how much Montreal loves her!
