Montreal Is Finally Getting A Dessert & Candy Festival
Cannoli, cake, donuts, brownies, pastries, and much more!
It only makes sense that with the plethora of meal (poutine,, pizza, ) festivals moving thier way through Montreal this summer that we finally get one for the sweets-lovers amoung us.
Perfectly marked for one of the last days of summer break, Les Gros Festival Sucre is holding a mini dessert festival on August 30th and oh my god, it's free.
The full-on, massive dessert festival won't be here until May of 2020, so this is the perfect time to give your sweet tooth a little taste of what's to come.
Held at the Nouvelle Vague in the Old Port, this is the first edition of the Mini Sweet. And yes, it is 100% dedicated to all things dessert related. There are 10 restaurants currently taking part so it will be filled with all things delicious and decadent like gourmet cakes, brownies, ice creams, and donuts.
And like all festivals in Montreal, it's not just the food that will attract visitors. They will have games, drinks, music, and amazing photo ops for your Instagram, like a giant pink flamingo you can lounge in while mowing down.
And did we mention, it's free! How could you not want to go? Even for Montreal, this is a unique food festival. The dessert artisans that will be on display include CRémy Pastry, d'licieux, Azùcar Candy, Biscuit Mtl, Waffles & Ice Cream, Mony Monka, Blissful Brownies, Cake & Co. Montreal, Essentially Ground and personal favourite Madame Cannoli.
The dessert festival has been held in New York and Los Angeles, but it only took a moment of realization that this was the one festival Montreal didn't have to know it had to happen.
So this is the perfect time to show them they will need to come back again and again!
