Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has begun its revival in Montreal after retreating from the island in the last decade. Before this year, the nearest Krispy Kreme was in the suburbs on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River.
Today, Montreal has not one, but two Krispy Kreme franchises. The first opened on rue Sainte-Catherine near Place des Arts in April. The second opened just moments ago in the Côte des Neiges / Notre Dame de Grace borough.
The specific address of the new location is 5737 chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, just blocks from the Université de Montréal and the Côte-des-Neiges STM blue line station. The new spot is sure to attract crowds of students, commuters, and locals, alike.
The downtown location has proven to be incredibly popular since its April opening. Lines down the street were common during its first few weeks of operation. The Côte-des-Neiges franchise, which will serve an entirely distinct population, will likely arouse the same enthusiasm.
Photos of the interior reveal a donut shop that features Krispy Kreme's retro aesthetic with a fresh, contemporary twist.
The new location will also give more Montrealers a chance to take advantage of Krispy Kreme's generous promotions. Earlier this month, for example, the company was giving out free donuts to patrons.
The official Instagram page of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Canada also shared news of the new location opening in a post Friday afternoon. Though the Krispy Kreme website has yet to include the CDN/NDG franchise among its Quebec stores.
