West Island residents won't have to travel all the way downtown to score some weed anymore. An all-new SQDC location is opening in Pointe-Claire in March 2020. The SQDC signed a lease in a building that was once home to the Bourbon Street West bar. This new store will bring the total number of SQDC locations on the Island of Montreal to five. Along with the brand-new store on rue Queen-Mary, there are locations on rue Sainte-Catherine in downtown, rue St-Hubert in Parc-Ex, and blvd de l'Acadie in the Marché Central mall.
The SQDC outlet on rue Sainte-Catherine is the busiest one in the whole province.
The West Island store will feature everything you've come to expect from the SQDC. It will have a similar design and carry the same range of products.
According to the Montreal Gazette, the SQDC has been planning to open a store in the West Island for some time.
Last week, the SQDC announced a pilot project that will bring same-day delivery to residents on the Island of Montreal.
They're currently working out the logistics behind such a project but it will soon come into effect.
With the 5th store in Montreal soon to be open, the SQDC continues its upward growth in the province.
Fabrice Giguere, media representative at the SQDC says that the West Island store will be open on March 31, 2020.

It's been a big year for the SQDC as it has continued to expand across the province. In Montreal alone, the crown corporation opened two stores in 2019. Elsewhere, the SQDC opened 7 new stores.
The SQDC also made great strides in terms of product quality and availability. It even sells ounce-quantities for only one product right now, with more to come in the future.
In just the first quarter of 2019, the SQDC sold some $39.5 million or 5,512 kg of cannabis at retail locations. Government revenues from its operations totalled $14.4 million.
The new store is already highly anticipated for West Island residents because, since legalization, most have had to travel into the city or order online to get their fix.
