Carey and Angela Price are not only known as one of Montreal's' most elite couples but also as excellent parents and philanthropists. They are also the couple behind the Carey and Angela Price Foundation. And recently, they stepped up in a big way, by donating $50,000 to the Breakfast Club of Canada.
With the closing of schools due to COVID-19 all across Canada, the Breakfast Club is now unable to provide 250,000 food-insecure students with breakfast like it typically did. So, it's been relying on donations to help provide children with what they need during this time.
For over five years now, the Price family has been involved with the club through a variety of different initiatives. As of now, the family has helped raised more than 820 thousand dollars in support of the club's mission.
The Breakfast Club of Canada has a goal of at least 5 million dollars in order to meet the needs of Canadian children and families in need during this difficult time.
To help minimize the effects of the coronavirus crisis the club is turning to local communities to help with the financial support needed to provide these children with meals.
Carey Price went to his Instagram page stating that this cause is "close to our hearts" and that he hopes "those who can donate and help the club reach their 5 million dollar goal" will.
This is where we're reminded that a little can go a long way. If everyone who was able to donated $5-10, such a goal would be reached with ease.
The Breakfast Club of Canada has also put in effect special grants where community organizers and schools can apply to "ensure children and families have access to food during the COVID-19 crisis."
There are currently so many videos flooding the internet of people clearing out all the shelves of grocery stores to fill their pantries during this time of uncertainty.
With this in mind, it's so incredibly important to take a moment to think about the families that are unable to do so.
Luckily for us, the Breakfast Club of Canada made it extremely simple for individuals to donate.
Small donations are a great way of helping families in need of food during this difficult time.
If you are looking to join the Price family in supporting children during this difficult time, you can make donations on both the website or by texting CLUB to 20222 to make a $5 or $20 donation — it's that easy.
Stay safe, Montreal!
