Montreal is a city with no shortage of food and summer festivals, two things that motivate tourists from around the globe to flood our streets throughout our best months.
Montrealers are lucky enough to live in a city with a diverse array of communities, creating some of the most varied culinary experiences in the country. With no shortage of celebrations for each of these food cultures, Montreal is a summer hub for foodies.
The dreaded end of our summer may be rapidly approaching but there is still a slew of amazing events to look forward to. Among them is Taco Fest Montreal, which is taking itself to new heights for the 2019 edition and inviting all taco-lovers to participate.
This three-day Taco Fest will be taking over the Quai Jacques Cartier in Old Port from August 31 to September 2nd and tickets are for sale on the website for only $7.95.
The festival will include an electric atmosphere showcasing some of Montreal's best and most celebrated chefs with an authentic Mexican twist, according to their website.
Why waste your final days of sun at home when you can get out of the house and indulge in some decadent Mexican delicacies.
Those who decide to attend the event will be overwhelmed by the countless tacos to pick from — seventy-five types to be exact — and it doesn’t stop there.
Taco Fest will also be serving up guacamole, churros, ice cream tacos and some of the hottest hot sauce you can find.
You will be able to wash the tastiness down with zesty specialty cocktails including Margaritas, Mezcal and of course, Tequila!
If you are all about the spicy sauces like I am, this festival will give you the chance to sample "over a dozen salsas and hot sauces from local and national brands,” the event website states.
This celebration of Mexican culture will also include interactive games, live folk music and dance lessons.
TasteMontreal and Cravings Food Co project that over 10,000 people will be stopping by the festival throughout the weekend and you should be one of them.
End the summer with a bang with three days of tacos and tequila… it doesn’t get much better than that!
