The summer is one of the happiest times of the year, however, with all the joie de vivre around us, the heat of the city brings its own set of problems.

It seems as though every week there is a new headline involving a child or a dog being left in the car on a hot summer day.

These stories have been flooding our newsfeeds and they are all equally as upsetting to read.

So we decided to do the Hot Car Experiment to highlight what this experience is like for those that are too vulnerable and unable to remove themselves from a hot car on their own.

Children and dogs have died of heatstroke or suffered brain damage due to the side effects of heat-related illnesses. Sadly, this is not the first summer that we have seen this.

It seems as though every summer there are countless stories about cases like this... which is why Alex Melki from MTL Blog wanted to show our viewers the damage this could do.

Warning, this video is a little uncomfortable to watch, however, after seeing this you will never leave your baby or pup in a hot car again.

As you can see from the video, Alex was suffering a lot and no one, no child, no animal should ever be put through that.

Alex stated in the video that a child dies in a heated car every nine days, which needs to be put to an end. He also stated that 87% of the children that are dying are under the age of three.

A child's body will heat up three to five times faster than an adults, however, the number of deaths is still incredibly high.

These cases, which we are all getting way too familiar with need to stop and although we may think we would never do that, the reality is... humans make mistakes.

If you ever find yourself questioning whether or not it is too hot to leave your kid or dog in the car, do not take the chance. It is not worth losing someone you love so much.
