The Montreal summer season is about to be amplified. As the back to back long weekends of la Saint Jean Baptiste and Canada Day plunge the city into full festival mode, Montreal buzzes with electric and infectious energy.
The annual International des Feux Loto-Québec fireworks festival is the the greatest expression of this excitement. The event illuminates the sky over the Montreal Old Port and Saint Lawrence River with a series of spectacles of sounds and light.
This year, Montrealers will have the opportunity to enjoy the fireworks from one of the most beautiful spots in the city. For just $5, you can attend a beach dance party at the famous Montreal Old Port clock tower.
"Live the experience of the International des Feux Loto-Québec in a unique atmosphere. Enjoy a drink from the Clock Tower Bistro with your feet in the sand and the sound of Montreal DJs who will set the stage before the fireworks," the Old Port website reads.
The clock tower beach commands sweeping views of the downtown Montreal skyline, Jacques Cartier Bridge, Saint Lawrence River, and Île Saint-Hélène. It's the perfect, secluded spot to watch as the fireworks throw colour over these iconic Montreal scenes.
These dance parties will take place over eight evenings between Saturday June 29th and Saturday July 27th. Each evening, a different DJ will play a set for attendees.
Access to the event is limited to those who are 18 years old or older. The venue opens at 7 PM. So before you dance and drink on the sand, be sure to climb to the top of the clock tower! The structure is free to enter and open before 7 PM each evening until September 2nd!
