Spring in Quebec has been eventful this year, to say the least. The weather has been going on a complete roller coaster ride and the cold temperatures seemed as though they would never leave. But, these dreary days should now be behind us as the heat is making its way back to bring summer weather to Quebec.

According to MétéoMédia, the temperatures should slowly get warmer in the next few days. And, the even better news is that Quebec could experience temperatures of up to 30 C for the first time this year around May 25 or 26.

Yes, your eyes read that right! Summer is around the corner.

Weather forecasts predict that it won't be long until temperatures are back to seasonal norms, which means chasing away the cool air that has reigned over Quebec since the beginning of May.

The record-breaking cold weather that has hit the province in the last few days, sometimes even bringing snow, will soon be a thing of the past.

Time to pull out your favourite pair of shorts from your closet.

MétéoMédia explains that Quebec usually experiences its first 30 C temperatures during mid-May.

In the last two years, however, we've been less fortunate. Such high temperatures were only reached during late May or early June.

In not-so-exciting news, rain is set to fall over southern, western, and central Quebec next Sunday and Monday.

A temperature drop is likely to occur for Victoria Day too.

But as of May 19, the temperature will climb for good towards seasonal normals and the sun will hopefully be here to stay.

The news we all needed.

This will be an opportunity to take advantage of the warm weather by going for a solo walk or spending time making yourself a nice BBQ meal.

After spending weeks indoors, spending some taking in the sunshine on your balcony will do you a world of good!
