It's apartment hunting season in most of Canada! As most Canadians stuggle to find affordable real estate, the luxury market continues to boom.

Canada lacks the obscene wealth that characterizes the upper class of the United States, but the country still has its examples of conspicuous consumption.

To give you an idea of the top tier of Canadian real estate, and because everyone could use some amusement during this often disheartening season, we've compiled below the most expensive homes currently for sale in each Canadian province.

To make this list, we've looked at top listings on Sotheby's, Luxury Estate, and Realtor.ca — all popular platforms in the Canadian luxury market.

We have not included homes for sale with unspecified prices. Many high-end property listings promise to disclose asking price "by request." Moreover, the properties below are easily locatable on sites that are accessible to the general public. Listings on private, exclusive real estate sites are not included.
