Shooting At The Raptors Championship Parade Leads To Stampede Of Panicked Crowd (Videos)
A shooting in Nathan Phillip's Square has left two people with "serious" injuries.
There have been reports of gunfire in downtown Toronto during the Raptors parade this afternoon. According to reports from the Toronto Police, two people have sustained serious injuried.
Millions of people were in the downtown core celebrating the Raptors' victory over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Final last week.
The shooting occurred at Nathan Phillips Square near Toronto City Hall. Videos posted to social media show hundreds of people running away from the scene.
Police are on scene attempting to calm the crowds.
The shooting was reported roughly a half hour ago.
The footage below shows a panicked mass of people exiting out of the immediate area. People on the scene are sending out tweets in support and hoping that everyone stays safe.
It's still unclear who fired the shots, but apparently, police have two people in custody. The police also recovered firearms.
With over 2 million people reported at the festivities, police presence was high and two suspects were quickly apprehended.
