Some Canadians Are Actually Protesting Against The End Of The Canada Post Strike

Why would anyone do this?

The Canada Post strike drama has been going on for so long that it's starting to make my head hurt.

TL;DR Several protesters have been arrested for picketing outside Canada Post sorting facilities, as they are illegally obstructing the movement of mail. These are not Canada Post employees, though. They are labor movement workers that are protesting the "back to work" legislation which has forced Canada Post strikers to return to their jobs.

Actually my head hurts because I still havn't received some packages I ordered weeks ago. And even though the strike is technically "over," many Canadians are in the same boat.

A little over a week ago, the Trudeau government literally forced the Canada Post strikers to go back to work.

The government rolled-up their sleeves and pulled out the last-resort card by passing an emergency legislation called the "back to work" law which basically forced all strikers to return to their posts.

Despite strike ending, the backlog of packages is still overwhelming and will reportedly take a while to clear. According to CP into the "foreseeable" future.

Thanks for the super precise time estimate, Canada Post.

But this story isn't about your late packages, it's about the fact that some people are actually protesting the end of the strike.

I know! Craziness. The labor movement is stepping up and protesting against the "back to work" legislation.

In short, these protesters are protesting the right to protest.

A morning report by The Ottawa Citizen shows that several protesters have been arrested for picketing outside Canada Post sorting facilities, as they are illegally obstructing the movement of mail.

That means these labor movement folks are slowing down the mail movement even more.

If this continues, the arrests will likely continue, as Canadians everywhere are fed up and tired of this strike and just want to get their presents on time.
