It's no surprise that Tim Hortons has been expanding their menu over the past few years to identify more as a restaurant and less as a quick coffee and doughnut stop. There really is something nostalgic about remembering the days when you could only get bagels, a few baked goods, and coffee from the Canadian chain. Well, those days seem to be way behind us.
TL;DR With the addition of regular-size chicken strips to Tim Hortons menu today, Canadians are furiously tweeting about the new food item and its poor quality. Tweets below for more details.
Tim Hortons actually just introduced their brand new menu item today, so if you were still getting used to the fact that they now sell "Timmies Minis," you might want to buckle up for this.
Chicken strips have just been added to the menu across Canada. They were first released as an option for "Timmies Minis" last month but now the food item is available in a regular size. This could be seen as a plus for anyone who enjoys a bit more than a bagel with their coffee, but so far it seems like every Canadian has a bone to pick with Tim Hortons right now.
It just so turns out the entire country decided to tweet out their frustration over the new Tim Hortons food item. As of now it looks like the food chain has made a terrible mistake...
So Tim Hortons decided to get chicken strips. I think it’s best they stick to donuts and coffee...— alexxandra♡ (@allysperdutiixo) January 8, 2019
Maybe @TimHortons should ditch the chicken strips and fake happy meals, and return to what got them to where they are: freshly made in house donuts, good tasting coffee, and well cared after employees. If you want to make a change, serve Montreal style bagels. That’d be welcome.— Ryan Wright (@ryanwright) January 8, 2019
PSA: Tim Hortons got rid of the Crispy Chicken and replaced it with chicken fingers.— Meg (@ItsMaeganSnow) January 9, 2019
Let me also mention that 5 fingers cost $9.36
Many people were not happy about the price.

Tim Hortons has chicken strips? I’m still waiting for them to just make a decent coffee and a good doughnut....— taylorxmeg (@_taylorcherski) January 8, 2019
Others were totally surprised by the fact that Tim Hortons was even planning to drop the new menu item.
