What matters to a country can be made extremely apparent by which brands are the most popular, especially when we consider how much time we spend buying nowadays.
Ipsos used their online forum to survey 6,000 Canadians in January of this year to find out which brands were the most important and influential in Canada.
Now, without much surprise, the top 6 brands go to huge U.S corporations, but hey what can you expect? The U.S is extremely influential in Canada, whether we like to admit it or not.
Google is ranked #1, but that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone because I'm pretty sure it's the first place anyone goes if they need something, good ol' Google.
What makes me a little sad is how Tim Horton's seems to have dropped. After all the scandals with the way they decided to pay their employees in response to the new minimum wage has put a bit of a damper on their reputation. They dropped from 9th to 16th! Poor Timmies.
In other news, Netflix has risen in the ranks and cracked the top 10 for the first time. That's definitely not surprising. Netflix is bae.
