Canadians Absolutely Lost Their Fvcking Minds About The $150 VIA Rail Passes Being Sold Out (25 Tweets)
Fantastic idea. Awful execution.
Yesterday, VIA Rail made big waves when they announced the sale of their $150 youth pass.
But quickly after the pass went on sale, it got so much attention that VIA Rail had to temporarily pull the offer.
Then later, they proudly announced they would putting the passes back on sale, only now there were only 1867 passes available in total, including the ones that had already been sold.
So within a few minutes all the passes were sold out, and now there's a whole bunch of angry canadians expressing their hate for VIA Rail on Twitter.

The #ViaRail 150 pass is the current Canadian youth's equivalent of a Wonka golden ticket.— Kendra P. (@GryphonFodder) March 30, 2017
Hey @VIA_Rail , will the youth pass still be available to those who have aged 30 years while waiting on hold?— Calmodulin (@CamWasson) March 30, 2017
@VIA_Rail Fantastic idea...Brilliant really. Absolutely awful execution. It was advertised to be unlimited and you went back on your word..— Justin Cooper (@coopdust24) March 30, 2017
I can't wait for the grandchildren I've raised while on hold with @VIA_Rail to take advantage of the Youth Pass.— Daniel Waring (@waring_daniel) March 30, 2017
Also @VIA_Rail, why were the Canada 150 passes being sold overrnight when half of Canada was sleeping? Did you forget the east coast?— Just Allie (@1DDevil) March 30, 2017
@VIA_Rail should be more tickets, online/calling only, a better website that doesn't crash while people are tying to buy your limited tix.— hot nerd™ (@kaylaramsEH) March 30, 2017
@VIA_Rail wow are you serious? You offered the promo, then retracted it, then brought it back with limited numbers and a broken site.— Faran Moradi (@FaranMoradi) March 30, 2017
@VIA_Rail I was SO excited for this promo because it made travelling to the West Coast within reach. Guess that pipe dream is over— red falcon. (@r3dfalc0n) March 30, 2017
@VIA_Rail this is a great promotion, but your website sucks, 1867 isn't a lot of tickets, I get it's the year of confederation but seriously— hot nerd™ (@kaylaramsEH) March 30, 2017
"Let's sell unlimited travel to youth for $150 in July" "Awesome idea, let's roll it out tomorrow"— Brandon March (@contikibrandon) March 30, 2017
@VIA_Rail please release more 150 passes! I tried for hours with no luck. Very disappointing.— Sara Jeronimo (@SaraJeronimoo) March 30, 2017

@VIA_Rail terribly planned. everybody didn't get a chance to get one. I'll be sure not to take VIA rail again, not like I ever did anyway— Ryan (@ryebreadguy_) March 30, 2017
who else will never be using @VIA_Rail? Reimburse me for the 6 hours I wasted at least— manda (@amandahuggens) March 30, 2017
@VIA_Rail you guys are awful ! Such terrible planning - at least please give out a formal apology and recognize your mistake— Markus Tralla (@MTswaggyswag) March 30, 2017
