China Is Building A 13,000 KM Underwater Railway Line To Canada
Meanwhile we can't even extend a metro line.
Last Friday, it seemed like the only story in the news was about a new direct flight from Canada to China.
I guess it was a slow news day.
Everyone seemed excited about this announcement, but that reminded me of a much cooler, project.
According to the Beijing Times, China is planning on building a train. But this isn't a train like any other, this is a high speed rail train.
Oh - and did I mention it's going to be built in an underwater tunnel to that leads to Canada?
Imagine being able to hop on train and arriving in China in less than two days without having to deal with an airport.
It may sound insane but if anyone can do it, China can.
The tunnel wouldn't be a straight shot.
It would start in China in the North-East and head towards Siberia, then to Alaska using an underwater tunnel and then to Canada.
My only issue is that I'm not sure which I prefer, flying 30,000 feet in the air, or being trapped in underwater tunnel.
What about you? Would you travel underwater to avoid airport security?
