As if commuters didn’t have enough areas to avoid and detours to make already, there may be yet another spot to steer clear of this Spring.
Montreal's STM is going to be shutting down another one of their metro stations starting on March 11th.
TL;DR the Bleury North entrance building of the Place-des-Arts station will be closed fro March 11, 2019 until Fall 2021.
And earlier this week we found out that the Cote-Vertu metro station, one of the city's largest public transit hubs will be closed 11 weeks starting in summer 2020.
Now, the newest closure to be added to the list is the Bleury North entrance building of the Place-des-Arts station. The entrance will be closed so that a private real estate developer can start construction on a project.
The STM plans on taking advantage of the closure add 3 elevators to make the station more accessible.
Luckily the other 3 entrances will remain open during the construction so you'll still be able to Place-des-Arts metro from the Jeanne-Mance entrance, the Président-Kennedy entrance and the De Bleury South entrance.
