The closures began on Claude-Léveillée Avenue in Terrebonne when the asphalt began to crack and break, leaving the road unsafe for drivers.
That was around 7 o'clock this morning and there was still no confirmation on when the road would re-open.
Traffic has not be allowed to travel westbound since this morning.
Now it's been confirmed that these closures will continue until at least Christmas.
Two detours have been put in place:
The first on Avenue Claude-Léveillée to Comtois Road through to Lepage and onto the 335.
