A Complete Timeline Of The Petty Drama Between Meghan Markle And Her Estranged Family

They just won't stop undermining her.

I don't think any of us are surprised that Meghan Markle's family has done everything in their power to garner even the slightest bit of Meghan's spotlight. Since her entrance into the Royal realm, only her mother has stayed chill about the whole situation.

From staging paparazzi photos to calling out Christmas cards, here are all the shamelessly petty things Meghan Markle's family has done since she started dating Prince Harry. This timeline is organized by family member.

TL;DR Meghan Markle's family came out of the woodwork as her relationship with Prince Harry came to light and their behaviour has been so transparent. Their desire to share some of her fame borders on petty. Here's a chronological account of the Markle family drama organized by family member.

Thomas Markle Sr., Meghan's father

He was reportedly scheduled to walk Meghan down the aisle but it seems Kensington decided against it after Markle Sr. made a big of a fool of himself — and showed his intense desire to share his daughter's spotlight.

He was caught arriving at an Internet café with a photographer where they then staged photographs. It was later confirmed that Mr. Markle did, in fact, get paid for these photographs.

Amidst the staged photographs were shots of Mr. Markle reading a book titled, "Images of Britain;" browsing photographs of his daughter and Prince Harry online; and getting fitted for a suit (presumably the suit he planned to wear at the wedding).

It's unclear how or why exactly Mr. Markle was then uninvited from the Royal wedding — the story is that he had a heart attack and then decided to take some time to focus on his health.

Below is a video of Mr. Markle on Good Morning Britain this morning expressing his hope that Her Majesty, the Queen of England (and Canada!), would step in and bridge this rift between him and his daughter.

It's interesting that he still thinks resorting to the media, and putting himself in front of a camera, is going to get him face time with his daughter — or even Queen Elizabeth, herself.

Samantha Markle, Meghan's step-sister

Samantha is Meghan's sister by way of her father's first marriage and she's been pretty vocal about Meghan since she began seeing Prince Harry.

In the video below, Meghan's half sister admits that she is largely responsible for the staged paparazzi photographs of their father.

She also explains that she was not present at Meghan's first wedding, either.

In recent news, Samantha has criticized Meghan and Harry's Christmas card that features the newlywed couple watching fireworks at the end of their wedding reception.

While her Twitter is set to private, Page Six reports that the salty half-sister wrote:

“Interesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have their backs turned. Is this towards the world or just the Ragland and Markle family?"

She then came back to say, “it’s incredibly rude to turn your back in a Christmas photo that is meant to share warmth and good wishes with the world."

Taking things a little personally, there, aren't ya Sammy?

Thomas Markle Jr., Meghan's half-brother

Samantha Markle isn't the only half-sibling to scrutinize Meghan since her foray into royalty. Thomas Markle Jr., also Meghan's sibling from her father's first marriage, felt the need to pen, not one, but two open letters before the wedding of his half-sister and Prince Harry.

The first, addressed to Prince Harry, was a terribly nasty attempt to explain to his Royal Highness that Meghan was not at all in his league and that she is essentially the worst person ever.

Within it he says, "it's very apparent that her tiny bit of Hollywood fame has gone to her head, changing her into a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the Royal family heritage."

The second, addressed to "Meg," which was posted just before the wedding, attempts to pull at heartstrings, instead. In the letter, he reminisces about great times with "Grandma Markle" and apoplogizes for the first harsh letter he wrote.

He explains he was just "disappointed and confused not getting invited," but now hopes they can have a "royal wedding family reunion."

It seems Tommy Jr. got one thing right. He was quoted by the Mirror saying maybe her family was "embarrassing" to her.

Now I don't think it's the fact that they are a "normal American family" that she's emabarrased — I think it's all this attention-seeking behaviour.

While Piers Morgan has recently decided to side with Meghan's family, most others see right through the Markle behaviour and are totally tired of it.
