Now that the holiday season is upon us, it's not uncommon to see stores decorate and redesign to celebrate the time of year. Usually, this just consists of a few decorations and maybe some new festive menu items.
TL;DR Duchess Bake Shop in Edmonton, Alberta has recreated the Hogwarts school from the Harry Potter series as a giant gingerbread castle on display in the store. The bakery is known for their unique creations and edible interpretations of real-life structures. Photos available below.
Lucky for us, Canadians tend to be super overachievers when it comes to the holiday season. This week, the Duchess Bake Shop in Edmonton demonstrated this phenomenon. If you happen to be a Harry Potter fan, and also a holiday enthusiast, then this was made just for you.
The Duchess Bake Shop is known for its insane (and edible!) creations. In fact, the experts working at the shop have even been featured on a baking reality show before. Yes, they really are THAT good.
Which is why it shouldn't be a surprise that they've managed to create a one-of-a-kind gingerbread interpretation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In case you're unaware, it's the iconic castle boarding school in all of the Harry Potter films.
The holiday dessert version is an almost to-scale replica, not to mention the incredible detail you seriously will not believe is all made of candy and other holiday treats.
Seriously, this must have taken weeks to complete!
The bakery has described the castle as their "most ambitious" creation yet. Although they definitely aren't new to recreating incredible real-life structures. Just take a look at this gingerbread cathedral that the bakery created a few years ago!
The Hogwarts gingerbread castle is up for display for the holiday season at the bakery, but if you were looking to try a piece of this timeless creation, you'll have to turn your attention to the many baked goods actually for sale in the shop!
