Just last week, Starbucks announced the release of a brand-new "winter flavour" latte that was essentially supposed to taste like cookies. They're calling it the "cinnamon shortbread latte," and Starbucks fans quickly got excited about this news.
We can't really blame them, the latte does sound delicious. According to the official Starbucks website, the latte flavour is described as a "rich espresso with buttery vanilla shortbread sauce, topped with a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg. It's shortbread made sippable."
TL;DR Here are some of the most recent Twitter reviews of Starbuck's newest "winter flavour" drink, the cinnamon shortbread latte.
But just because something sounds tasty on paper, doesn't mean it will actually taste good IRL. Recently, for example, Tim Hortons customers took to social media to criticize the chain's new chicken fingers despite initial excitement about their release.
That said, it has officially been a week since the release of this brand-new Starbucks drink and the internet can't seem to come to an agreement.
Many Starbucks fans are giving the drink rave reviews.
Many people praised the continuation of winter drink releases just as holiday beverages are retired for the season.
But wait! A seemingly equal number of Starbucks fans are giving the drink a negative review. The common theme coming up time and time again: lack of flavour.
Many people are confused.
I tried the #CinnamonShortbreadLatte AGAIN today, because I trust Starbucks hype more than my own judgment.— x kelly x (@kellyxcore) January 11, 2019
I still don't like it.
Although I personally have not tried this latte yet, my feeling is that this drink is overly sweet, but I guess the only way to really know if this new flavor is a hit is to fork over the $5-$7 and try it for yourself!
