TL;DR Five of Montreal's best restaurants have made it on to Open Table's Top 100 Restaurants in Canada, based on reviews by diners.

But even more than just authentic and longstanding Montreal food staples, the city food scene boasts some amazing, high class, super gourmet restos. And the rest of the country is about to take notice.

Yep, this year five Montreal restaurants have made it onto Open Table's top 100 hundred list. The list is created based on the "analysis of 500,000+ reviews of more than 2,500 restaurants across the country — all submitted by verified diners," according to a press release. Because the list is based on real diners' reviews, it includes everything from dumpling joints to trendy gastro pubs.

Below are the five restaurants in Montreal that made it onto the list – and if you're looking for something outside the big city, check out Daniel Vezina’s restaurant Laurie Raphael in Quebec City or Le Baccara at the Casino du Lac Leamy in Gatineau.
