You're probably still in shock at how fast summer went by. It seems like yesterday that everyone was just starting their vacations and an amazing summer in Montreal was about to begin. Preparing for autumn consists of finding the best places to go to appreciate the foliage and anticipating the release of the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
But for the season that follows there's really only one way that we mark its beginning. We all know winter doesn't start until this one thing happens. Yes, I'm talking about the first snowfall of the year.
Whether you love it or not, we all know the exact moment winter has hit us. You may wake up and look out your window, greeted by fluffy snowflakes gently falling from the sky.
Or, it may be a year where Montreal is endlessly tormented by a second Ice Age. Either way, you always want to be prepared for the first snowfall. Luckily, this year you will be.
According to AccuWeather, the first snowfall of the year in Montreal is taking place on October 29th – right before Halloween!
Don't worry, we won't be blindsided by a massive blizzard (at least not this year.)
The forecast predicts only a little snow that day, but it's still enough to conclude it is the official start of winter, at least in our minds.
Thankfully, this year's winter is supposed to be pretty mild.
Although you should expect snow and cool temperatures, we may actually be able to enjoy the season this time around rather than be terrified by it.
Happy end of the summer, Montreal! Get ready to enjoy all the festivities of fall.
