Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially announced the name of their new royal baby: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The name, which is quite the mouthful, has many people on social media confused and amused.
Of course, it did not take long for people to start making memes, jokes and comparisons about young Archie's name. The baby has barely been alive for 48 hours and he's already been dissected to pieces.
I would feel bad for him, but he's already more rich and famous than I ever will be, so there's that.
Seriously, the new baby already has a Wikipedia page.
Of course, the obvious comparisons to the Riverdale character (and the eponymous protagonist of the Archie comics) had to be made.
It's true that, if the baby is ginger, that the name will be unfortunate.
Many are saying that the name doesn't reflect the royal baby's special status.
Others are speculating on the origin of the baby's name:
I would like to point out that the tweet above made me cackle out loud for a full two minutes.
Many other Twitter users are disappointed by the way in which the royal couple decided to announce the name of the baby. With all of the fanfare made by media in the last few days, many were expecting a big reveal.
Some people wanted to remind people of Meghan's past as a briefcase gal on "Deal Or No Deal."
Many pet owners are happy today. As it turns out, Archie is a popular name for dogs.
I love the Internet for this specific reason. If there is news out there, chances are people are already making memes about it.
The royal couple has once again retreated from the public eye, and may do so for a while until they get used to being new parents.
