Holi is also known as the festival of colors and is a massive celebration of colors, music, and dance which is celebrated each spring across the Indian subcontinent and in countries with large Indian populations like Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada!
Although Holi is an ancient Hindu festival, it is now celebrated across the world and has now become popular with non-Hindus as well. The festival has a very universal message that everyone can appreciate.
The festival signified the victory of good over evil and the end of winter and arrival of spring! Now, Montrealers are known for using that great excuse to party, too.
That said, Montreal is hosting it's very own Holi color festival in the Old Port this July. And the tickets are on sale now!
The festival will take form in a huge outdoor festival with a line-up of artists and musicians performing for the crowd.
