Legendary actor Burt Reynolds passed away today.
Known for his roles in Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance, Boogie Nights, and The Longest Yard, Reynolds quickly became an iconic figure. His face and characteristic moustache have been emblazoned in the popular imagination.
Reynolds was in the middle of shooting multiple films at the time of his passing, including Quentin Tarantino's latest work Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
He leaves behind one adult son.
His rise to fame is a quintessential story of a little-known but hard-working actor. While waiting tables and performing in menial roles, Reynolds finally got his big break with the 1955 film Gunsmoke.
He will be forever remembered as a classic Hollywood masculine hero and sex symbol.
May he rest in peace.
