Horse Caleches Are Now Banned In Montreal
The city lays down the law.
Hey, remember when a calèche horse was foundwithout its coach? Or that time a horse was found ? Well, I surely do; and I'm sure many of you do, as well.
In my humble opinion, theisn't the greatest. Stories like the ones above come out all the time, and personally, I get really horrified whenever they do. Admittedly, I don't know what the solution is for this - all I know is that something needs to be done.
Apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Although the above situations are seriously not cool, they at least served as a catalyst for people to express their displeasure with calèches.
And, friends, someone listened.
Montreal mayor Denis Coderre has put a one-year ban on calèches, effective Tuesday, in order for the city to review the current calèche situation.
Although this is not technically a permanent ban, it's still a huge step in the right direction in order to improve conditions. All I know is that I'm super glad that, at least for this year, we won't be hearing any moreabout this.
