I personally hate how much the internet knows about my life. It freaks me out that they know exactly what I'm doing at all times and it kind of makes me want to do all my browsing in incognito mode.

Whenever I do any online shopping, for the next two weeks I have advertisements popping up about that one shirt I looked at for thirty seconds. I honestly wish I could see what the internet thinks of me.
Well, I'm not sure about the entire internet, but I do know how you can access what Facebook thinks about you.
In just a couple of easy steps, you can see exactly what information Facebook is keeping about you.
A reporter from the New Zealand Herald named Nick Whigham decided to do some snooping and found a HUGE amount of data that had information from his rental property to banking transfer to random conversations he had with his friends.
It's kind of freaky to think that a website is just keeping all of your personal information on file. But hey, if you're interested in knowing what they have on you, you can find out for yourself through your own Facebook account.
That's right. It's open for you to see whenever you want. The thing is, most people don't even know that it exists.
Here's what you have to do:
1. Click the little down arrow at the top right corner
2. Click Settings, and go to the General tab
3. Find "Download a copy of your Facebook data"
Then, after about an hour, you should get an email saying that you can download your information and you'll be able to see just what Facebook is keeping on file about your personal life.
Facebook says that they do this because it helps to make the platform free. And, I mean hey it is open for everyone to see so it's not like they're being sneaky about it.
It still makes me feel a little bit violated. Maybe it's better to ignore it. But now that I know I can't help myself. I need to know what they know!
