Since the vegan burger was released at A&W locations across Canada this year, vegans and meat-eaters alike have been going crazy over it.
Marketed as the "bleeding vegan burger" it uses beet juice to simulate blood coming from the patty, complementing the unbelievably similar taste to real beef that much more.
It was no surprise when these burgers began to fly off the grill. It was arguably A&W's most popular menu item for the time is was available. Even non-vegans would enjoy ordering their favourite burger usually complete with a meat patty, but swapping it out with the beyond burger one.
It was delicious, exciting, and said to be healthier than most other menu items at the restaurant. That's why it was so devastating to hear that the burgers had been temporarily sold out at every location across Canada.
Beyond Meat enthusiasts weren't just waiting a day or two for their favourite meal to come back, it's been quite a few weeks of uncertainty concerning when or how the burgers would come back in stock across the country.
Luckily, the wait is finally over. The Beyond Meat Burgers at A&W are officially coming back this October 1st!
A&W Canada sent out an email to everyone on their mailing list yesterday afternoon, surprising us all with the news that the wait for the meatless patties wouldn't be much longer.
The restaurant promises that they've been busy stocking up on the patties, so let's just hope they don't run out again anytime soon.
We can only grow more impatient as the next couple weeks pass before one of the most popular burgers in Canada is finally available once again.
The line-up on October 1st to be one of the first to get the burger will most likely go out the door, so you might want to get there as soon as possible.
