It's Official, Minimum Wage Is Going Up In Quebec

Much more than we expected.

Last week the Quebec Government rejected the idea of implementing a $15 minimum wage. However this morning they announced that minimum wage will be increasing, and it's actually much more than we expected.

On May 1st 2018, minimum wage in Quebec will increase to $12 an hour.

That's a 75 cent increase, which is a lot more than the 50 cent increase we got last year.

At the time Quebec was planning series of 4 annual increases that were supposed to bring minimum wage up to $12.45 an hour by the year 2020, so this increase is way ahead of schedule.

It's the single biggest minimum wage increase in Quebec's history.
