Kate Middleton Vs. Meghan Markle: Who Had The Better Royal Baby Reveal (Photos)
Which Duchess delivered best after delivering their baby?
With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry finally stepping out this morning to show the world their first glimpse of Royal Baby Sussex, we couldn't help but look back at the three other Royal Baby reveals we've had in the last couple years.
The Sussex pair has been breaking from tradition non-stop since they got together, so it's no surprise that even their baby reveal was unlike those of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, or even Princess Diana traditions.
So take a look at all the most recent baby reveals and make your own mind up, who do you think did it best?
Royal Baby Sussex
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, welcomed their first child today. Without a name, the world is still just calling the newest royal "Baby Sussex," for now.
Instead of stepping out on the steps of the hospital, as Kate and Will have done in the past, the Sussex pair decided to wait and hold a small press event inside the palace a couple days after the birth of the baby.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate that Meghan is already wearing HEELS?! And, it's not like we were totally left hanging, since Prince Harry made this super sweet statement on the day of, which meant he could let his lady rest.
On July 22nd, 2013, Kate gave birth to Prince George, who is third in line to the throne, after his father Prince William and grandfather Prince Charles. He will likely be king one day, which to me is absolutely hilarious because I can't take this little dude seriously after the emergence of the Instagram account @garyjanetti.
I have no desire to burst the bubble of my suspension of disbelief with this one: I want to believe Prince George is every bit as sassy as @garyjanetti paints him to be.
On May 2nd, 2015, Kate gave birth to Princess Charlotte, the princess we all hoped would be their first born so that she could have been the next Queen... no? Just me? I kind of thought that was why they fought that whole absolute primogeniture thing, but whatever, I guess King George will do.
Again, the couple made their first appearance on the steps of St. Mary's hospital, with little George in tow for the photo op.
On April 23rd, 2018, Kate and Will welcomed their third child, Prince Louis. After the adoption of absolute primogeniture over male-preference primogeniture, Prince Louis has become the first British prince to be ranked behind an elder sister when it comes to succession.
The photo above, taken a mere 7 hours after Kate gave birth, caused quite a stir for moms all over the world, who couldn't believe the Duchess was willing and able to step out in front of all that press so soon after labour.
This is perhaps why Meghan has received questions about why she didn't follow suit and share her little bundle of joy immediately.
But it seems the Sussex pair aren't too concerned with following all the Royal traditions that came before them. They know they'll never be King and Queen, so why would they bother to have a name ready immediately, share photos 7 hours after labour or worry about whether they should stick to a St. Mary's Hospital birth instead of a home birth.
