A young man of only 30 years-old was critically stabbed on Wednesday evening right in the heart of downtown Montreal near the intersection of St-Hubert and Maissoneuve.
Although Montreal is definitely not considered a violent or dangerous city by any means, it seems like this summer is an exception to the rule. With several shootings occurring in the span of just a few days, I think it's safe to ask ourselves if trends are actually changing, or is this violence just temporary.
With that said, there is not a great deal of information about who is responsible for the stabbing or the motive behind it.

All we know is that there was an altercation that quickly escalated between two people which resulted in the victim being stabbed several times in the upper body.
The suspect fled the scene and no arrests have been made at this time. The injured man was quickly rushed to the hospital and is still in critical condition.
At this point, the intersection where the incident occurred has been totally blocked off so the police can continue to investigate the incident.
Hopefully, there will be more information to come.
