McDonald's Is Flipping The Golden Arches For International Women's Day
As if we needed another reason to love McDonald's. The fast-food restaurant goliath is flipping its golden arches in honor of women all around the world.
For the first time in the brand's history, Macdonalds will transform into Wacdonalds for one day only.
The arches will be physically flipped at one California restaurant location. Employees from different locations across the US will also be given special hats and t-shirts to mark this special occasion.
Many companies are now using international women's day as a way to showcase their commitment to empowerment and diversity. Chief Diversity Officer Wendy Lewis of Macdonalds says it's being done "in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere."
That said, Macdonalds is not all just talk and no walk. They have a long history of supporting women in the workplace. In a statement, Macdonald's said that 6 out of 10 restaurant managers are women.
