The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, welcomed their first child just a few days ago. Since the announcement of the birth, the couple has made one public appearance with the newborn.

Earlier today, photos of the baby were released to the press and media for the first time. Now, the name of the baby has also been announced.

The Duke and Duchess' official Instagram account revealed the royal baby's name mere minutes ago:

The caption reads, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor."

"This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion."

"Archie" is an adorable name for a royal baby. The baby does not hold the title of Prince, as the Queen did not bestow that title upon him. Only the descendants of Harry's brother, Prince William, will have that title.
