It's official, the minimum wage in Quebec has gone up by 50¢ this week. 

Last year minimim wage went up to $10.75 per hour but now it's up to $11.25. 

It may not sound like much, but it's an extra $20 a week and more than a $1,000 if you work 40 hours a week.

More than 350,000 will be benifitting from the increase.

The increase also includes those who work for tips, the wage in that case has gone up from $9.20 to $9.45.

This was the first of 4 planned increases that will raise the minim wage all the way up to $12.45 an hour by the year 2020.
