Last year the STM experimented with a pilot project to allow passengers to get on the bus through the backdoor.
The reason for this is that when a bus stops at a metro station, there are often long lineups, and letting people in one at a time can take a really long time.
Thankfully the pilot project was successful and starting June 19th articulated buses stopped at metro stations will allow passengers to board buses via all doors to speed up passenger distribution.
But be careful, you must have an OPUS pass if you are going to be using the back door.
The STM wants this system to be implemented for every articulated bus line by 2020.
In the meantime the backdoor option is available on the following g bus lines between between 5:00am and 7:00pm.
