A few weeks back, we announced the opening of a brand new indoor water-park in Village Val Cartier.
But it looks like you won't have to drive all the way there to enjoy some indoor aquatic fun.
Montreal is about to get not 1, but 2 brand new indoor aquatic complexes!
The first is a new Aquatic Center in the Rosemont Complex, which will include $2,9 million in upgrades to the existing facility, as well as a 5,000 square foot addition and a new ginormous indoor pool.
Construction is set to begin in 2018 and the center will be open by 2020.
The second one will be built just outside of Montreal, in Laval, near the Cosmodome.
This new aquatic center will be designed in collaboration with Olympic diver Alexandre Despatie. It will feature 3 pools, including one for diving, and construction will cost $61 million dollars.
The outside of the building will be made of massive clear glass walls, to give swimmers the feeling of being outside.
No word on what else will be included, but from what we can tell by looking at artist rendering, it seems as if it will be equipped with some kind of water slide.
