February is here and romance is in the air. And not just because the Valentine's Day, the most commercially romantic holiday of the entire day looms on the horizon, it's because we're in Montreal, and an atmosphere of passion and love is always in the air.
We're not alone in thinking that, either, as Montreal has just been ranked as one of the 14 most romantic cities on the planet. Not only that, the city got the number four spot, kinda-sorta.
In all honesty, there weren't any numbers fixed to the romance-rankings, but Montreal was the fourth city listed. Given that fact, combined with our inherent city pride, we're going to take that as proof (in the mildest sense) the author meant for Montreal to be listed as the fourth most romantic city on Earth.
To describe Montreal's inherent romance, TripExpert (the folks who created the list) pulled a quote from Food & Wine, which states:
"in addition to the cobbled streets and old bistros, this Francophone city fosters some of North America’s most talented chefs, innovative musicians and a vibrant arts scene.”
Then they go into how the weather is incredibly zany and the mix of old and new aesthetics within the city. Sure, it's a pretty basic description of Montreal, but it's all true nonetheless.
So come V-Day, be happy knowing that you're living in what is (at least to an arbitrary online list) one of the most romantic cities anywhere on the planet.
