Montreal Roads Are Going To Be An Absolute Nightmare This Weekend

Here are the routes to avoid.

Ah, the weekend.

As summer comes to a close and fresh, cool autumnal air begins to flow through our windows every morning, it's the perfect time to catch up on some sleep under a cozy blanket.

Indeed, with another round of crazy weekend road closures, it might be best to just stay in bed all day.

Planners and construction crews put off some work so to minimize disruption to weekday commutes. Unfortunately, that means the city becomes immobilized during the weekend.

To help you navigate the noise and detours, we've compiled a complete list of closures for the next two days:

Highway 10

– eastbound access to A-15 south from exit 4 is completely closed


Highway 13

– northbound on the Chomedey Expressway is closed after exit 6 from midnight Friday to 5am Monday
– southbound on the Chomedey Expressway is reduced to two lanes
– the ramp from A-13 north to A-40 west is completely closed
– the service road from A-13 south to A-40 east is is completely closed


Highway 15

– northbound exit 61 to Ave. Atwater is completely closed
– northbound on th Décarie Expressway between the turcot Interchange and the NDG Tunnel is reduced to one lane
– the ramp from A-15 south to A-20 west is closed for midnight Friday to 5am Monday
– the on-ramp to A-15 south from Blvd. de la Vérendrye is completely closed
– the ramp from A-15 south to A-720 east is closed from midnight Friday to 5am Monday
– the ramp from A-15 north to A-720 east is also completely closed


Highway 20

– the access ramp from A-20 to R-138 east is completely closed
– access from A-20 east to A-720 east is closed from midnight Friday to 5am Monday
– access ramp from A-20 east to A-15 north is closed from midnight Friday to 5am Monday
– the eastbound route between Blvd. Saint-Joseph and Ave. Saint-Pierre is completely closed
– the entire westbound route between the Turcot and St-Pierre interchanges is completely closed from midnight Friday to 5am Monday


Highway 720

– the entire westbound route between exit 5 and 1st Avenue is closed from midnight Friday to 5am Monday 
– eastbound between the Ville-Marie Tunnel and the Turcot Interchange is reduced to two lanes
– the westbound ramp to A-15 south is completely closed
– westbound access to A-15 north is closed from midnight Friday to 5am Monday
– the Ville-Marie Tunnel is reduced to two lanes up to the entrance from Rue de la Cathédrale
– Ave. Greene is completely closed in both directions between Rue St-Antoine and Blvd. Dorchester
– westbound exit 2 is completely closed
– the westbound on-ramp from Rue Fort is completely closed
– the westbound on-ramp from Rue Lucien-L'Allier is completely closed
– westbound between Ave. Papineau and Rue Sanguinet is closed both Saturday and Sunday between 5am and 5pm
– eastbound exit 7 is also closed Saturday and Sunday between 5am and 5pm


Route 138

– westbound access to A-20 west is completely closed
– Blvd. St-Anne de Bellevue is reduced to one lane in each direction between 


Rue St-Jacques

– the street is completely closed in both directions between Ave. Girouard and Blvd. Décarie


Rue Notre-Dame

– the street is closed in both directions in the South-West of Montreal between Blvd. Monk and Ave. du Carillon from 10pm Friday to 5am Monday


Chemin de-la-côte-St-Paul

– eastbound between Blvd. Monk and Rue Phillipe-Lalonde is completely closed
– the route is also apparently closed wherever it passes under route A-15


Rue St-Rémi

– the street is completely closed in both directions between Rue Notre-Dame and Rue St-Jacques


Rue Haldey 

– the street is completely closed whereverit passes under route A-15 


Glen Road

- the road is completely closed between Rue Ste-Catherine and Rue St-Antoine
